Scripture
•…he reported to them how he had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken to him (Acts 9:27)
•And I will live for the Lord, (Psalm 22:31)
•… the way we know that he remains in us is from the Spirit he gave us. (1 John 3:24b)
•Remain in me, as I remain in you. (John 15:4a)
•If you remain in me and my words remain in you… (John 15:7a)

Reflection
•Can you describe closeness in a way more intimate than “Remain in me as I remain in you”?
•Why does Jesus invite you to “remain in me”?
•Does “remain” describe the eternity or timelessness of becoming one in Jesus?

For the Word of God became a human being that we might become God; and he manifested himself in a body, that we might gain an idea of the invisible Father; and he endured insolence from men, that we might inherit immortality. (Athanasius)1
